The Afterlife is No Longer a Mystery
Voices for We Are Shadows
“… I felt connected to the characters and was sad that I finished the book. It’s the type of story that had me wanting spare time so I could curl up and continue reading!”
Roberta, Goodreads reviewer
“… We Are Shadows has an appealing writing style and a captivating plotline with many unpredictable twists.”
Nino Lobiladze for Readers’ Favorite
“… The Irish are famous for knowing how to tell a good tale and this book is no exception. In fact, in this book, I was pleasantly surprised to get not one, but four intertwined tales to relish and enjoy.”
Donna Thompson, Reviewer for Library Thing
Meet the Author
Undeterred after being denied admission to an elite middle school, based (she’s sure) on her impromptu short story assignment, Gail continued to write throughout her school years: poetry, journaling, and creative writing. As an adult, she’s become an artist, a blogger, a writer, and a biographer to several of her ancestors and progenitors.
Gail is a retired librarian (she received her MLIS from Syracuse University and a BA in History from Brigham Young University), a genealogist (solving history mysteries), an herbalist, and grandmother to thirteen amazing grandchildren.
After traveling the world as a military spouse for twenty-four years, she and her husband reside in Boise, Idaho, with their Anatolian Shepherd, Loki.
Why the Bee on the Book?
The Mythology Of The Honeybee
In Celtic mythology, the bee is an emissary of the Otherworld. With its ability to travel back and forth between the spirit world and the land of the living, they are able to relay messages from not only loved ones who have passed to the Otherside, but also to relay wisdom from the gods as well. Bees are said to hold the ancient wisdom of the druids. The Celtic goddess, Brigid, held bees to be sacred. Their honey is medicinal as well as delicious! And if you want your beehive to remain productive, you must treat its residents as members of your family, ‘telling the bees’ of every birth, death and other important events.
